We're happy to announce that SourceGas is now Black Hills Energy, and that we'll be your new natural gas provider. You probably have some questions about how this change will affect you. Below you'll find answers to some commonly asked questions.



Who is Black Hills Energy?

Black Hills Energy, headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota, serves more than 1,200,000 electricity and natural gas customers throughout parts of Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming. We've been supplying our customers' energy needs for more than 130 years.

How will this change be good for me?

The combination of our companies forms a stronger utility. This helps us to better meet your future energy needs by taking advantage of the expertise and financial resources of both.

More importantly, Black Hills Energy is a responsive, forward-looking utility whose first commitment is always to you: your safety, your comfort and your energy budget. This is reflected in our mission: Improving life with energy.

We understand that SourceGas was your trusted energy provider for many years, and we promise to continue providing the great service you rely on.

The only differences you should notice will begin in March when SourceGas vehicles, signs, uniforms and offices begin switching to displaying the Black Hills Energy logo. Your natural gas service will continue uninterupted, and your current SourceGas rates, payment schedule and options will remain the same.

Paying Your Bill

Simply continue submitting your payment to SourceGas as you've always done, using the return payment envelope in your statement, the service office where you typically pay, or your SourceGas online account.

Changes to the format of your bill will be communicated in the coming months.

Your Online Account

If you have an online account, continue accessing it through the SourceGas website. The site will remain operational throughout the transition to accept payments and handle your other business with us.

Customer Service

Continue calling the 800-563-0012 customer service number for emergencies or customer service questions.

Customer & Community Programs

We have a history of more than 130 years of community partnerships in the states we serve. And this long history will continue with donations, partnerships and events in our new service areas too.

Customers in Nebraska and Wyoming will still be able to participate in the Choice Gas program.
